Healthy Store Bought Snacks for Kids, Clean Eating!

Can I have a snack??? This is the most asked question on a daily basis in my household. I know my Moms would agree. Dads too!

My kids are constantly asking for a snack. If it was up to them, they would snack their way into Rescue Bots and Cocomelon for the rest of their life if they could. 🤦🏽‍♀️

I had to find some easy and healthy, on the go snacks that they could grab on their own without them needing me.

When I created this a list of packaged snacks, I really had kids in mind but as I did a trial and error, I found out I like these healthy snacks just as much as they do! Maybe a bit more.🥴

Just a note, a lot of these snacks can be used for healthy lunch ideas, school snacks, and as a sweet treat.

Here is a list of kid friendly clean eating store bought snacks!

  1. Mavuno Harvest: 100% Organic Dried Pineapple

Y'all, when I tell you this taste so good! I mean, when the kids told me how much they liked this! LOL

The pineapple taste so fresh and not full of sugar and grit like most dried fruit can be. We went through the bag quick! The best thing about this is that it only has one ingredient…organic pineapple.

It is naturally sweet and flavorful and it did not give the acid burn that pineapple can typically do if you eat too much. This would be a great option to add in home made trail mix.

Ingredient List:

- Mavuno Dried Pineapple

- Raw Almonds

- A pinch of sea salt

Voila! You've got a homemade snack!

What I really like about this clean brand is that the food is sourced directly from Sub-Saharan Africa. By purchasing this product, you are helping African farmers by funding their jobs, providing resources to support their farms, and feed their families. This product will stay in constant rotation in my household. This is a great plant based snack option.

They have other fruit and nut options available as well.

This snack bar is a fan favorite amongst all the kids in my house. It stays on the drive up pickup list at Target.🎯

It is sweet which is why the kids like it and it is made with whole wheat flour, whole wheat oats, and uses fruit juice for coloring which is why I like. Another reason why I like this easy clean eating snack option is because it will keep your kids regular…if you know what I mean. My oldest can have digestive issues but if she eats at least one of these a day, we are good to go! 😉

This bar is my go to when I pack a snack for snack time at school.

You should definitely give this snack a try and add it to your grocery list. Our favorite is the Original and Raspberry.

Applesauce is always a fan favorite and it reminds me of my childhood. I loved applesauce so much as a kid. Ok, as an adult as well but that’s not the point.

Applesauce is a great healthy clean snack for anyone to enjoy. I love the ease of these pouches and you can pack them and take them literally anywhere. They come in a lot of different fruit flavors but never made with any artificial flavors. Two out my three kids like this so, in my book this is a win.

They even have their own way of recycling the pouches after you use it which is great because while these are very easy for the kids to grab, this uses a lot of plastic which creates waste. Now to be honest, we typical like to pop popcorn on the stove in a pot (nod to my Husband). A healthier version is to popcorn in the air fryer but if you do not have the time or just plain lazy, this healthy store bought snack is a great option.

Popcorn is probably one our favorite snacks in my house.

Everyone, even my youngest loves popcorn. The SkinnyPop Original only has corn, salt, and sunflower oil. This also stays on the drive up pickup list at Target🎯. It is an easy inexpensive store bought snack that everybody loves.

Tip: watch out for flavored/seasoned snacks. Anything that is flavored typically is using some sort of processed chemical to get that flavor. As I always say, check the label. We stick with the Original SkinnyPop Popcorn.

Healthy Snack, Nature Valley Granola Bar, Toxic free

Healthy Snack, Nature Valley Granola Bar, Toxic free

This is an oldie but goodie that just about everyone knows and loves. This granola bar taste great and has whole grain oats which is a great alternative to bleached processed oats.

Dip this into some peanut butter for a plant based protein snack. This is a favorite clean snack of mine as well.

You can find this literally anywhere.

Vegan, Healthy, Wonderful Pistachios, toxic free

Vegan, Healthy, Wonderful Pistachios, toxic free

Yes, my kids like Pistachios, with the shell on. They enjoy the experience of cracking and getting the nut out of the shell.🤷🏽‍♀️

Pistachios are a great healthy snack option. The are full of good fats, fiber, and protein which will keep the kiddos full and regular.

Clean Eating, Enjoy Life Mini Chip Chocolate, Toxic Free

Clean Eating, Enjoy Life Mini Chip Chocolate, Toxic Free

For a sweet treat for the sweet tooth, this is the kids go to. I really, really like this option mainly because it does not include any diary. It uses cane sugar instead of processed added sugar and most importantly, the kids love it! I keep it in the refrigerator because the kids like it cold.

For the adults, these come in dark chocolate as well if anyone is looking to reduce their sugar intake and up the antioxidants….or a glass wine can do the trick as well. 😉 This is a great option to add to homemade trail mix or snack packs.

Tip: If my girl is having some constipation issues, I will melt this chocolate, add some coconut oil and freeze in molds. This process has been coined as poop chocolate.

This recipe is a great treat for kids and a God send for parents to get their kids to go number 2. Coconut oil is a natural laxative. Melt it into a some sweet chocolate and you got a treat that the kids can’t resist.

Now…… do I still let my kids have a random fast food chicken nugget every now and then? Yes.

Why?

Life is meant to be lived and enjoyed. Not restricted. I will always strive for my family to have clean eating habits but a Haribo Gummy Bear every now and then ain’t never hurt nobody.

As long as we do our part and trust God for the rest. 🙂
